Usability of the logistics software becomes more important. During the ICT & Logistics we did research into the important points that have to do with the use of logistics software. This research showed that speed, the number of bugs and ease of use are the most important points for users.

Ease of use
Ease of use, bug-free and speed of the software are the most important aspects of logistics software according to the respondents. On a scale of one to five, it is indicated that with 4.6 the ease of use is the most important part, followed by the speed (4.5) and bug-free software (4.4). When looking at the current software that the respondents are using, it doesn’t correspond with the extent to which they find this important. The experience of the ease of use and the number of bugs is being experienced with a score of 3.2. The respondents give the speed of their current solution a score of 3.2.
The interface, the learning time and the number of clicks that are made in the logistics software also score slightly lower than what the respondents would like to see.
Communication with chain partners
In addition to usability, users also find it important that logistics software contains the possibility to communicate with chain partners via a Customer or Supplier Portal. 65% of the respondents indicated that it is important to be able to communicate with customers through a Customer Portal. 14% even thinks it is very important that the logistics software contains this functionality. For the Supplier Portal, 22% thinks it is very important that it is possible to communicate with partners and suppliers through a Supplier Portal.

Workflows for an efficient process
A workflow is a term for a defined process that makes it easier for the user to go through all parts of the logistics software in a logical and efficient way. The survey shows that 79% of the respondents think that workflows in logistics software are important. It optimizes the processes and it reduces errors because it works with a fixed flow.
Grade logistics software
The respondents give their logistics software an average of 6.6. This is sufficient but not a grade to be very proud of. Adaption has been working for a long time on improving the usability and communication possibilities of the logistics software from the Logistics Cloud Suite. Workflow management is also an important part of the software. That is why we asked our customers how they experienced our software solutions. The result is something to be very proud of, our customers give our solutions from the Logistics Cloud Suite an 8.7 ! This shows how important it is to keep the ease of use, communication possibilities and workflow management in mind during development. In 2019 the solutions from the Logistics Cloud Suite will be further developed and the subjects are high on our agenda. We strive to get a 9 next year!
