1. Efficient Cost Allocation for LCL Shipments
Fair and flexible cost allocation in LCL transport
Less-than-Container Load (LCL) shipments are a crucial part of multimodal transport, where multiple customers share space in a single container. The latest version of Adaption’s Logistics Cloud Suite introduces a new feature that enables fair and flexible distribution of transport costs among different customers within a shipment.
The cost allocation can be configured in various ways, depending on user preferences. Costs can be calculated based on freight tonnage, weight, volume, or distance, but users also have the option to define their own method. This ensures full control over how costs are distributed, providing a transparent and fair allocation of transport expenses while offering maximum flexibility per customer.
Enhanced consolidation and flexibility
In addition to improved cost calculations, the software also allows multiple products to be consolidated into a single container and different shipment records to be combined into a trip dossier. This simplifies order consolidation and enhances transport efficiency. The software instantly identifies orders following the same route, making it easy to determine which shipments can be combined.
With this software expansion, the LCL shipment process is further optimized. Through smart consolidation, fair cost allocation, and a streamlined booking process, logistics service providers can work more efficiently and better serve their customers.
2. Expanded Webfleet Interface for more efficient Transport Management
Who is Webfleet?
Webfleet, formerly known as TomTom Telematics, is a leading provider of telematics solutions for fleet management. The company offers cloud-based software that helps businesses track vehicles, optimize routes, and improve fleet efficiency.

In the latest release of Adaption’s Logistics Cloud Suite, the Webfleet Interface has been further expanded. This interface, formerly known as TomTom Telematics, now supports dispatching pickup and delivery tasks per activity rather than per order. This means that drivers are no longer dependent on general order instructions but instead receive detailed instructions for each specific task they need to perform.
With this enhancement, drivers know exactly what to pick up and deliver at each location, leading to more efficient route planning and execution. This improves the accuracy of transport assignments, minimizes errors, and ensures smoother operations.
3. Recording and reporting container weight information
Adaption’s software now allows for the recording and reporting of container weight information. When weighing at the weighbridge, the total weight of the container is measured. This data can be directly entered into the application and used to generate a detailed report.
The report displays both the container weight and the cargo weight and can be sent along with the driver or directly to the customer. This provides greater transparency in container, drum, and IBC documentation and supports compliance with weight registration and transport regulations.
4. Expanded reporting for rental warehouse orders
The Rental Warehouse Orders functionality has been enhanced with an improved pallet report. Previously, this report could only be generated as an attachment for daily or monthly pallet counts. Now, users can also generate this calculation for an entire week.
Users can choose between a weekly calculation from Monday to Sunday or Sunday to Sunday, depending on their administrative preferences. The option to generate reports per day or per month remains available.
This expansion provides greater flexibility in managing and reporting pallet rentals, making invoicing and administration more straightforward and organized.
5. Filling and Flushing in Bulk Processing
The Bulk functionality within Adaption’s Logistics Cloud Suite has been expanded with Filling and Flushing, optimizing the handling of bulk shipments and liquid goods.
With this update, bulk or liquid goods can be immediately packaged into drums and IBCs. After delivery and the return of packaged units, it is now also possible to flush (clean) pipelines, drums, and IBCs. This is essential for hygiene and safety, particularly when transitioning between different product types.
These improvements provide greater control and efficiency in bulk processing, covering storage, packaging, cleaning, and administration.
6. Read-Only fields in Page Setup
Adaption’s Logistics Cloud Suite now offers the ability to set fields as Read-Only, preventing accidental modifications to critical information while ensuring certain fields remain accessible for reference only.
Users can determine which fields are Read-Only and configure this setting per user or master scenario. For example, only a designated individual can make changes, while others can view the information without altering it. This feature enhances the interface’s clarity and reduces the risk of data entry errors.
7. House Bill of Lading now available
In addition to the existing Bill of Lading functionality, a House Bill of Lading is now available in Adaption’s Logistics Cloud Suite. This document is used to inform shipping lines and other suppliers about the delivered goods and offers additional flexibility in formatting.
With this enhancement, users can:
Add a company logo.
Choose which signature appears on the document, either the preparer’s or the company’s.
Select between port names or city names for greater accuracy.
This new functionality allows businesses to tailor their House Bill of Lading to their specific processes while maintaining a professional and polished document presentation.
8. Generating a Commercial Invoice
Adaption’s Logistics Cloud Suite now supports the generation of a Commercial Invoice, a crucial document for exporting goods outside of Europe. This document informs customs about the nature of the goods and includes all necessary details for international trade.
Examples of data in the Commerial Invoice:
Shipper and consignee information
VAT details and EORI number
Container information and Load Unit details
Customs Goods Code for clearance
The report is available in both Dutch and English and can be included directly with the shipment. With this new functionality, the export process becomes more streamlined while automatically meeting international trade requirements.
